Welcome from the President

Welcome to the website for the National Primitive Baptist Convention of the United States of America. I follow the line of ten outstanding leaders who stood the test of time. On their shoulders I stand and carry the Covenant of the Primitive Baptist denomination that has maintained its history, mission, purpose, sixteen Articles of Faith, and three Primitive Baptist Ordinances, which have been deeply rooted in the words of God more than one hundred years.

We believe in only one true and living God and the Trinity of persons in the Godhead, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, and yet these are not three but one. Biography (Pages 1-4) The Articles of Faith, alone, set the awesome stage for the foundation of our Biography (Pages 5-8) faith. Over the last one hundred years, our faith has carried us through the storms of life, sustained us, trained us, developed us, and launched us into a world that has need of our path of faith to guide unbelievers to God and help make our world a better place to live.

Primitive Baptists across America are growing in their faith in the power of God, the understanding of the word of God, the importance of the sanctity of the saints, the importance of knowing the work of God and living accordingly. We have come out of the darkness into the marvelous light and we know that faith without works is dead. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose.

The mission of the Primitive Baptist Church has not changed, and the understanding of God’s word has not changed. We still hold dear to our hearts the purposes of God’s word that have sustained us for more than one hundred years. They are to promote unity among our people, foster the cause of education, evangelism, mission, church extension, and publication. Our covenant continues, “For as much as Almighty God has been pleased to call us out of darkness into His light, and having been baptized upon a profession of faith in Christ Jesus, and having given ourselves to the Lord and one another, in a Gospel Church way, we do covenant together by the help of God”.

We hold dear to the ordinances that sanction our faith. “It is a natural sequence that being a spiritual organism, the church of God should have some outward signs or seals of its invisible life, signs or seals distinguishing those who form it from the rest of mankind. Such is the principle and purpose of ordinances of the Primitive Baptist Church of Christ. For there are three that bear witness in the church, viz Baptism, Lord’s Supper, and Washing of the Saints Feet, these three agree in one (I John 5:8). And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.”

We hold all of our beliefs in high regard because they are all biblically sound, tried by time and experience, and available to all who receive them. To learn more about our denomination, go to the links on Articles of Faith, Church Covenant, and Church Ordinances.

Come go with us now as we prepare for our 102nd National Convention that will be held August 15-21, 2009 in Dallas, Texas at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. The theme for the convention is “Wait on the Lord: Be of Good Courage and He Shall Strengthen Thine Heart”. We have so much prepared for this 102nd Session, from the beginning to the end. God bless you and your family.
